My formal medical training is in the field of physical therapy. After
working full-time in PT for 9+ years and gaining an advanced
Masters, I was hired by Rockhurst University to begin a PT
education program with two other PT’s. While teaching, I
completed a PhD in Communication Studies with an emphasis on
communication in health care settings. Following being a PT
professor for 20 years, I moved into administration and served
as the associate dean and interim dean of the graduate school
for 7 years. The majority of the time I was teaching or in
administration there, I continued my practice of PT part -time.
Upon leaving Rockhurst in 2010, I heard of a local FM residency
was looking for an educational specialist. Been at Research FM
Residency since then!
