Welcome again to the
Research Family Medicine Residency Program Website. As we are finishing
the applicant interview season for the Class of 2019, I want to thank
all those applicants who we were privileged to interview. I hope you
enjoyed your day with us and learned about the many things that I think
make this Residency special. These include our unopposed residency
training in a top quality tertiary care hospital (Research Medical
Center); optional opportunities such as the OB Track, the Integrative
Medicine in Residency Track and the OMT Track; overseas medical
missions; and longitudinal interactive didactic curriculum in Inpatient
Medicine, OB/Newborn and R1 Outpatient Family Medicine Clinic settings.
We continue to have high energy and excitement regarding our Goppert-Trinity
Family Care clinic’s Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Level 3
certification – and the improvement in care outcomes this continues to
bring to our patient population.
I am very excited to
announce that the Research Family Medicine Residency Program will
increase the 2014 Match quota to twelve (12) Residents. I would also
like to take the opportunity to “brag” about our results on the 2013
In-Training Exam (which all Family Medicine residents across the country
took in October 2013) because our residents’ average score was higher
than the national average.
Most of all, I hope
you have gained an appreciation for the good working and personal
relationships that develop between residents, faculty and support
staff. Finally, please take this opportunity to watch our residency
video which briefly reviews and highlights the key aspects of the
Research Family Medicine Residency Program.
